The Italian Cannoli

Cannoli
(In Italian: "Little Tube") is a famous and much-loved
Sicilian dessert.
Our Cannoli  is a crunchy sweet pastry, filled with a sweet
creamy filling: Vanilla custard, Chocolate Custard, Sweet Ricotta mix or Caramel Chantilly.

And by the way - its not CANNELLONI,
its CANNOLI :)

Few important things to know about Cannoli:

Once the Cannoli shell is filled, is best to be eaten... the same day it was filled!
Why? Because the next day the filling starts to absorb into the shell,
which will soften the shell (Most Cannoli fans love their Cannoli crunchy).

But not to worry - we have solutions for the problem:

1. Our best solution is to eat it! NOW!
2. We also have the option of Chocolate coated Cannoli (coating inside the shell). This inner coating "protect" the shell from the custard or Ricotta filling. See photo below
3. You can also purchase from us empty Cannoli shells and separate containers of the fillings, and fill the Cannoli as needed. The shell itself, when stored in container in a dry dark place, will last for a long long time... The filling (custard or Ricotta) shelf-life is approx 5-7 days (refrigerated).
Cannoli can be filled either with a piping bag or a simple knife. We will be more than happy to show you how to fill a Cannoli.

CANNOLI SHELLS Ingredients:  cinnamon, Wheat, Vitamin (Thiamin), sugar, White wine, lard [(pork), BHA, MGC], rum [alcohol, water, E155 E133 E102]

 

12 cm long

 

Air-tight container, cool and dark place (do not refrigerate.)

Shelf life: 2 months

SWEET RICOTTA FILLING: Special mix of Ricotta, sugar & chocolate chips. (approx ½ kg  fills 10 Cannoli shells) Ingredients:  Ricotta cheese (pasteurized whey, pasteurized milk, salt, food acid 260), water, sugar, lemon essence, raw cane, palm kernel oil, cocoa powder , inulin (from chicory), emulsifiers (soya, lecithin E476), natural vanilla flavor

 

Refrigerated 0-4°CEL

Shelf life: 7 days

VANILLA CUSTARD FILLING: Creamy sweet vanilla custard. (approx ½ kg fills 10 Cannoli shells)         Ingredients:  water, sugar, vanilla essence, Modified maize starch (1422), Wheat starch, Sugar, Salt, Colors (102, 110, 124, 171), Flavor

 

 

Refrigerated 0-4°CEL

Shelf life: 5 days

CHOCOLATE CUSTARD FILLING: Creamy sweet chocolate custard. (approx ½ kg fills 10 Cannoli shells)    Ingredients:  water, sugar, vanilla essence, cocoa, Modified maize starch (1422), Wheat starch, Sugar, Salt, Colors (102, 110, 124, 171), Flavor

Shelf life: 5 days
